شخصیت اصلی بازی Far cry3 جیسون برودی است که به همرا تعدادی از دوستانش به جزیره ای در اقیانوس آرام آمده اند تا تعطیلات را بگذرانند.در این جزیره آدم هایی هستند که می خواهد جزیره را مال خود کنند . سر دسته این آدم ها شخصیتی به نام واس است.واس آدم ها را به شکل های عجیبی شکنجه می دهد و بعد می کشد و حالا جیسون قربانی واس است.بعد از این که جیسون به همراه دوستانش در حال خوردن نوشیدنی در یک کافی شاپ جزیره بودند واس به آن ها خوش آمد گویی گرمی میکند.آن ها را می گیرد و با خود می برد.(یک سکانس جالب در این قسمت این است که ناگهان جیسون تفنگ روی زمین را برداشته و روی سر واس می گیرد. ناگهان واس سر تفنگ را روی پیشانی خود قرار داده و فریاد می زند بزن بزن ولی جیسون آدم کش نیست) . دست های جیسون بسته است و واس در روبرو او با او صحبت می کند پاهای جیسون به یک سنگ وصل است ، بعد کمی صحبت واس جیسون را درون آب انداخته و می رود ولی جیسون با دست و پا زدن موفق به باز کردن طناب می شود.داستان بازی از این جا شروع می شود که باید دیگر فرار کنیم چند آدم را بکشیم تا دوستانمان را هم نجات دهیم این کل داستان بازی بود.ولی در بازی اتفاق های دیگری هم روی می دهد ولی مهم ترین آن ها همین ابتدای بازی بود. کل داستان بازی در جزیره اتفاق می افتد.به همین دلیل سایت رسمی بازی های رایانه ای گیم اسپات تیتر این بازی را برای بررسی گذاشته بود بازکشت به جنگل های استوایی زیرا نسخه اول بازی در جنگل های استوایی جریان داشت ولی نسخه دوم بازی این گونه نبود برای همین نام این بازی را این سایت بازگشت به جنگل های استوایی گذاشته است.
دلیل این که من تیتر این بررسی را گذاشته ام یک بازی کامل این است که در بازی از سلاح های تفنگ و چاقو و چوب و تیر کمان استفاده می شود و در طول بازی باید از چتر و قایق و ماشین هم استفاده کنید. در ضمن بازی در جنگل های استوایی است در این جزیره با حیواناتی همچون انواع پرنده ها ، شیر ، مارمولک بزرگ ملقب به اژدها کومانو ، کوسه و انواع ماهی ها ملاقات خواهیم کرد.تازه در این بازی شنا هم می شود کرد.

این بازی هم برای هر سه پلتفرم اصلی یعنی PC/PS3/Xbox360 در پاییز 1391 منتشر می شود.
همان طور که می دانید نسخه کامپیوتری بازی به دلیل گرافیک بالای کامپیوتری(البته اگر گرافیک عالی داشته باشید) بسیار می تواند جذاب تر از کنسول های دیگر باشد ولی با این خاصیت کامپیوتر مسولان یوبی سافت اعلام کرده اند که کنترل این بازی در کنسول های Xbox 360 و PS3 می تواند بهتر از نسخه کامپیوتری باشد ولی همچنان کامپیوتر با گرافیک بالا بهترین پلتفرم بازی ها است.
